The Tour of the Valdosta

After Misery, not only was the request for a milk-run granted, but the GAF and the Global Administration assigned the crew to a very important task – a one-month tour of different colonies around the Orion Arm giving official conferences about their discovery of the Crimson and the future of the GAF.

Of course, a lot of it is scripted and there’s a shit-ton of things they CAN’T talk about, but the purpose of the conferences is obvious: to have the Valdosta’s crew recognized as the heroes, leaders and experts on the subject of the Crimson and the upcoming galactic strike on the space-brains.

The crew can decide who heads each conference, which press members they’ll speak to and for how long, where they’ll stay (on-board or dirt-side) and the general schedule of the tour.

Already Avery’s started an initiative, inviting colonial schools to bring students for a special tour of the Valdosta herself, something she seems to enjoy a great, great deal.

In other news, about two weeks after Misery, Nova sent communiques to most of the crew stating she was pregnant. The message was ridiculously short - but even Gull can probably figure out that there may be a weeee bit of tension given the whole "your child may end the world" prophecy. She's not seen again until the crew heads out for the tour and conferences and she remains a bit more to herself than normal until the first batch of school kids shows up.

Somewhere in the middle of tour one, it's rather like a knot releases and she starts to relax again, as if reminding herself of the -good- part of the "having kids" She somehow, also, has managed to talk her mother, Cotton, and Dr. Fisher into letting her do the tour and milk run as long as she (and she qoutes) "promises to tell anyone if anything seems the slightest bit wrong, yes Cotton I know you'll kill me..."
