In light of its new duties, the Valdosta has been equipped with a small, three-man shuttle. The shuttle is very compact, and offers very limited cargo space. Basically, this is so the ship's crew can pick up and drop off guests/dignitaries as needed. The shuttle has been named the Crescent, after an historic plantation home in Valdosta, Georgia.
The Crescent attaches itself to the underside of the Valdosta, and this type pf shuttlecraft has been termed a Remora Class.
